5 Day Competent Crew/Day Skipper Sailing

Experience a sense of achievement and gain a Royal Yachting Association Qualification.

The competent crew course assumes no prior knowledge at all. You will be taught all the necessary seamanship skills, including helming, sail setting and trimming, knots, etc. to enable you to be a confident member of a crew on an offshore yacht.

Alternatively the Day Skipper course assumes knowledge to the level of Competent Crew plus Day Skipper Theory. It is for those who wish to start to expand their skills by introducing navigation pilotage and meteorology.

Both courses are of 5 days or 3 weekends duration and will contain at least 100 miles and 4 night hours. An RYA certificate is issued on satisfactory completion of the Theory Course and Practical Courses. The intricacies of the courses will be explained to you on arrival.
