Sound compatibility (output) MPEG2/Dolby digital/DTS compatible output The integrated Dolby Digital/MPEG2/DTS decoder provides the analogue signals for front, centre, and rear speakers as well as the subwoofer. Just connect your amplifier with 5.1 input to obtain digital surround sound. There is no need for an external decoder. Digital Theater Systems (DTS) has a higher data rate providing the the highest sound quality.
Video D/A converter 12bit On DVD discs, pictures are encoded using MPEG-2 technology in 8 bit resolution. This converts MPEG2 8-bit resolution to a higher bit rate to reduce obvious signs of digitizing, rendering the film closer to the original movie master.
Audio sampling 12bit/96 KHz Converts the software audio signals, which differs from source to source, into the highest quality. In the case of audio CDs this results in improved dynamic range and audio quality. Only really relevant if you are going to play CDs through our DVD player.
