Specialized Stumpjumper FSR XC
Stumpjumpers are designed to give you maximum control with incredible reliability for as little weight as possible. A Body Geometry saddle is fitted to give the most in technological development: which reflects much of the rest of the frames design and componentry.
The frame on the Stumpjumper FSR is made from A1 premium alumunium. This allows the tubing to be manipulated so it is thicker where more stress occurs and thinner to save weight elsewhere. Full butting develops this further to strengthen the frame without being costly in weight. Integrated disc mounts allow for later upgrade. Specialized suspension is designed to be responsive enough to smooth out small bumps while robust enough to cope with bigger hits. It is also fully independant of pedalling forces. Dont believe cross-country is the place for full suspension: think again, this frame is superlight!!
The Stumpjumper frame allows for between 75 and 90mm of travel at the rear. They use a Fox FLOAT R shock which also features adjustable rebound. The Judy SL features all travel which allows adjustment between 63, 80 and 100mm of travel. Hydracoil is also featured. This opne bath system serves to improve performance by constantly lubing the forks to provide damping and cool the fork. The Homer Valve blows off pressure on big hits, while 12mm of negative travel prevents top out.
The XT rear derailleur has four fluorine coated pivot pins which reduce friction for a lighter and more precise shifting performance. It also has a robust alloy construction which is durable, yet also lightweight. The LX front derailleur has a reinforced chain cage which has added rigidity and strength to improve shifting. LX shifters use Rapidfire which enable you to shift while keeping control over the brakes. The short stroke action is both light and responsive to reduce fatigue and stress.
Avid Single Digit 3R brakes use force vector alignment. This places the pad closer to the brake boss which enables more energy to be directed at the rim. Avid Speed Dial 5 levers allows on the fly modulation adjustment without the need for tools
Mavic X221rims have machined sidewalls for additional strength. At the rear is a Team Master Pro tyre. Like the Team Control Pro at the front this is made from a long wearing durable compound and has a kevlar bead. Wide faces on the centre knobs reduce rolling resistance while the tread and tie-bar knob design increases tractionWAS £1299.99 SAVE £300 The Stumpjumper provides a fantastic ride performance for cross country or freeride.
