Robert Parker Although this big boldly-styled Kirwan is less concentrated than some recent vintages have been it is an impressive effort revealing a dense ruby/purple color as well as aromas of new oak black currants roasted herbs and graphite. Full and rich with plenty of tannin to shed although the tannins are melted and unaggressive (fondu as the French would say) this 2008 should evolve for two decades or more. 88-90/100 points
