Sauvignon Blanc is one of the main grapes of the Loire used most famously in the wines of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume just to the east of the Touraine in the Central Vineyards. It performs particularly well on the limestone soils of the region. The fruit for this wine was all sourced from Touraine AOC vineyards but the producer preferred to declare them merely as vin de pays this year to emphasise the grape type. The wine is named after Henri I of Lorraine 3rd Duc de Guise rival in the 16th centur
