Donkey Kong Racing Gamecube Game

Diddy Kong Racing was a delight on the N64, combining the best aspects of the mighty Mario Kart with Rare's cartoon-like visual talents and an incredible amount of track and vehicle variation. Now it's time of the next generation, and for this one Rare has really pulled out all the stops. Featuring the whole Kong family - Donkey, Diddy and Tiny - this is a race game that takes things back to nature in a big way. Forget Formula One cars and the like, in Donkey Kong Racing animals provide the means of transport, as contestants head out on land, air, sea, and even underwater astride birds, fish, and land beasts such as rhinos. | | With each track branching out and featuring numerous alternate routes and shortcuts, the choice of animal can make all the difference, though there's often the opportunity to switch creature mid-race. It's not just a race for the finish line, either, with the ability to collect food and bonuses. These then bolster each animal's abilities. The tropical environments looked just peachy, with great flora and fauna, sunlight effects, breezes swaying the trees, and loads of extra animals stomping, swimming and flying around the place. And of course there's an excellent multiplayer mode, which is where the madcap, ultra-competitive ridiculousness of it all really hits home |
