This service continued for very many years with the train leaving London Euston at times varying between 8 and 9 oclock in the morning. Over the years the service, which operated in both directions, did see many changes to the coach configuration but in 1950 the service was provided with a much needed buffet car which was welcomed by the passengers due to the fact that the train did not leave Holyhead because of customs formalities, until 1.10am, arriving at Euston at approximately 6.30am.In the 1950s the service required a powerful locomotive to haul what by that time had become a heavy; train and it was therefore not unusual to se one of the Rebuilt Scots pulling the Irish Mail train out of Holyhead heading for Euston in the early hours of the morning.1500 pieces.For ages 8 years and over.
