In Umbria, only a short distance from Perugia and Lake Trasimeno rises Monte Solare, associated from ancient times with the cult of Apollo, the sun god. Here, among the various green of the olives groves, vineyards and woods, stands the old, noble Villa of Monte Solare. The walled Italian garden, the chapel of Santa Lucia and the orangery enclose the Villa in an atmosphere of tranquillity. The Villa retains unchanged many of its original characteristics: large fireplaces, walls decorated with murals, ancient terracotta floors and period furnishing. In the restaurant one find traditional Italian cooking interpreted with creativity and refinement. The cellar contains over 400 Umbrian wines.
