Located a short distance to the north of Margaux, Malescasse occupies the highest-altitude vineyard site in the commune of Lamarque. France experienced unusually high temperatures in 2003, and consequently this wine is a fleshy, powerful and ripe example. Fully mature and ready to enjoy now, this rustic, ruby coloured claret is packed with ripe bramble and plum fruit, accompanied by heady aromas of cigar box, cocoa and clove. Decant before serving. Best enjoyed with mature cheeses.
