Unbranded Juliénas 2010, Georges Duboeuf
Named after Julius Ceasar, the cru village of Juliénas is believed by many to have been the location of the first vineyard plantings made by Roman settlers in Beaujolais. Juliénas has a more varied terrain than any other cru, and produces wines with good complexity. A ripe, lively, medium-bodied Beaujolais, with an intense nose of blueberry, blackcurrant, candied peel and flower petals. A juicy and easy-drinking palate, with friendly tannins and a pleasing freshness. Superb with minted lamb.
