Venegazzu is located to the north of Venice in the hills outside the town of Treviso, just on the approach to the Dolomites. Wine has been made here for centuries, although this winery was established in the 1950s by Count Piero Loredan. A Bordeaux blend, this wine is robust, sinuous and firmly textured, with tannic blackcurrant fruit tempered by 18 months ageing in oak. Spice and vegetal notes create a savoury complexity. Drinking now, but will integrate further with 3-6 years
