This wine comes from vineyards on the slopes surrounding Montalcino in Tuscany. The area is known for production of Brunello, a dark-skinned, low-yielding clone of Sangiovese, although the Rosso is made from the fruit of the younger vines, for a lighter style. Ruby red in colour, with an intense nose of ripe red berries, and the toasty scent of 12 months in barrel. Mellow and well rounded, with a smooth mouth-feel and satisfyingly chewy tannins.
