From selected vineyard sites in Stellenbosch, where the climate is cool Mediterranean, and soils are of loam and granite. Varietal characters are preserved in this Cabernet by cold soaking before fermentation, and maturation with oak staves for just 8 months. Nose and palate are dominated by blackberry and cassis, with subtle hints of mint leaf and nutmeg showing through. Oak influence is restrained, providing gentle polish to the ample tannins.
